IBEX User Manual Part 1

1. Preface

1.1 Introduction

First of all, we would like to thank you for choosing our IBEX . The IBEX is a cutting-edge digital battery quality diagnostic tester that diagnoses the status of cells or stationary batteries deterioration by means of measuring and analyzing the internal impedance (Z), voltage (V), temperature (°C) of cells, or stationary batteries.

1.2 Product Characteristics

Employ automatic stationary battery measuring algorithm

As it has a built-in type automatic measuring algorithm, it automatically measures and stores data by contacting probes to the stationary battery poles. Thus, it can measure a lot of cells in a short while.

Excellent measuring performance

It is able to measure up to 6000AH and 1.2V, 2V, 6V, 12V cell and has a ripple elimination algorithm so that it can keep the precision of ±2.0% during floating charge.

USE GUI Menu ICON

To make it more user friendly, most of its menu items are displayed in the form of icons so that even a beginner can use it without difficulty.

Easy Management of Measurment Data

As it can manage the measuring data of stationary battery in 15 different types of banks (files), it enables effective data management, data transfer to PC and easy database operations.

Rapid Measurement Time

The time required for measurement is less than 3 seconds. The device can measures a number of stationary batteries in a short time and store them automatically.

As it paused from the inside, it enables to measure the cell that has lower terminal voltage than tail voltage and also measures its connecting resistance separately.

As it is the world first compact and light weight tester, it is advantageous for onroad measurement.

It uses a Li-Ion battery to increase use time and is marked by an enhanced durability with the elimination of moving part.

of capacitive reactance and inductive reactance that different values for impedance will be obtained at different frequencies. Impedance at a constant frequency can not vary due to changing frequency. The term, 2Πf, becomes a constant and thus the reactance only varies due to real changes in capacitance and inductance. Measuring impedance at the same frequency over time shows that impedance does, in fact, find weak cells caused by real changes in cell condition.
