Summary of Position

The accountant’s responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will work with accounting software programs to maintain the following business transactions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, amortization schedules. A successful Accountant should be familiar with all accounting procedures, have a flair for numbers, and ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Sets up Vendors and Customers in the accounting system.
  • Checks customer references from credit application.
  • Enters vendor invoices and prepare accounts payable aging reports.
  • Prepares customer invoices and accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Sends statements to customers and apply payments to their account.
  • Makes deposits through remote deposit capture device.
  • Reconciles monthly credit card statements with employee expense reports.
  • Maintains accurate software files and paper files.
  • Supports the tax team with monthly sales tax filing requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • 2-5 years accounting experience required, preferably as an Accounts Receivable clerk or Accounts Payable clerk.
  • Associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
  • Competency in MS Office and accounting software.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and aptitude for numbers.
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
  • Data entry and word processing skills.
  • Well organized.
