SG-100M Electronic Battery Hydrometer, Density Meter, Monitor

In Stock

The Eagle Eye Power Solutions SG-100M Electronic Battery Hydrometer/specific gravity measurement meter/ liquid density monitor can replace ordinary glass bulb and optical refractometer hydrometers that are limited in range, utility, and functionality. The SG-100M Electronic Battery Hydrometer has an in-tank, drop-hang submersible density meter that monitors and records specific gravity/liquid density during a mixing, blending or plating operation. The SG-100M Electronic Battery Hydrometer/specific gravity measurement tool offers many user-customized options that allow the instrument to fit your exact density measuring needs. The density measurement probe can be purchased independently or for integration into an existing PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). An optional 4 -20 mA analog output board for automatic process control is available. Cabling is either Teflon or PVC depending on the measuring sample.

Benefits

  • Measures in liquids or slurries

FAQs

Does the SG-100M need to be calibrated before use?
The SG-100M has already been initialized at the factory using two benchmark liquids at room temperature of 72 °F (22 °C). The meter can be reinitialized (recalibrated) at any time at the user’s discretion.

How do I properly test using the SG-100M measurement probe?
The probe must be placed vertically upright (cable on top) in the liquid being tested and the liquid must cover the top of the cable connector on top of the probe for proper readings.

What is the range of densities the SG-100M can measure?
The SG-100M has been designed for use in the density range indicated on the attached label on the back of the meter (0.550 – 2.000 g/cm3). Measurements outside of this range will not be valid.

How should the measurement probe be cleaned?
When the probe is used in water-soluble liquids, simply soaking in water and agitating should be sufficient for cleaning. If the probe needs to be completely dismantled for a more thorough cleaning, the probe-meter must be reinitialized after being reassembled.

What optional features can be bundled with the SG-100M?
A 4-20mA analog output board is available for automatic process control, allowing you to continuously monitor and manage your solutions. Cabling included can be either Teflon or PVC depending on the measuring sample.

Can I purchase the measurement probe by itself?
Yes, the SG-100M measurement probe can be purchased as a stand-alone piece to use within your system and integrate into an existing PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). The probe has a cable with a 3-wire connector at the end of the cable. The three wires are (black) ground, (red) power (5 VDC) and (green) signal (0- 5 VDC). The PLC engineer connects these wires to the PLC in his desired configuration.

How does the digital panel meter communicate?
If you order the electronic module in addition to the probe, then the module powers the probe and it can provide a 4 – 20 ma analog output signal for PLC connection and control capabilities. This is the best option if your PLC is located at a longer distance from the probe.
