Summary of Position:
Field Service Technician Level 2 is an entry level position working on DC power systems. The preferred candidate for this role has previous experience working as a service technician. This position supports field installation, maintenance and testing of stationary battery systems including hands-on work with industrial batteries, rack stands, battery monitoring systems and other safety equipment. This position reports to the regional Field Service Manager.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to senior technicians and field service managers at job sites or customer locations as required and in accordance with project scope of work.
- Load materials into and out of company vehicles on a daily basis as necessary.
- Work with various tools and electrical testing equipment on a daily basis.
- Assemble or add mechanical items such as battery racks, spill containment kits, support rails and other equipment as necessary.
- Occasionally perform mechanical or electrical work at job sites, such as installing flexible conduit, drilling, and creating holes or wall penetrations through metal, wood, and concrete surfaces.
- Install equipment enclosures and junction boxes as needed.
- Run cabling to various types of equipment and perform safe, reliable electrical connections on AC/DC systems according to industry practices and standards.
- Install grounding cables to equipment and check for proper connection.
- Ensure job sites are inspected and cleaned up thoroughly after job completion.
- Assist in completing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) forms and field service reports.
- Upload all documents and reports to the company database as necessary, and submit weekly expense reports or other administrative information as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the field service manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass random drug tests.
- Must be reliable on a daily basis as a key member of the service team.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to lift 50-60 pounds repetitively is a plus.
- Ability to work at various heights and climb ladders safely
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite Experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficient with using laptop computers, tablets, smartphones and App’s
- Strong organizational and time management skills preferred.
- Natural attention to detail along with effective problem-solving ability.
- Excellent teamwork and communication ability.
- Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Willingness to accept direction and feedback, offer ideas, and collaborate with service managers in a team environment based on mutual appreciation and trust
