Rated for ASTM F1505-01 & IEC 900 Standards
Designed to safeguard personnel and equipment that are susceptible to shorting out and creating spiking surges to electrical apparatuses. Due to OSHA 1910.331 standards, insulated battery tool kits have begun to emerge to satisfy electrical safety-related work practices.
All insulated battery tools are rated for exposure of up to 1,000VAC and dielectrically tested at 10,000VAC. Each toolkit meets or exceeds ASTM F1505-01 and IEC 900 Standards for Insulated Hand Tools as well as compliance for OSHA 1910.333 (c)(2), and NFPA 70E 2012. Individual tools are made with two-color insulating material that is impact resistant and flame retardant. For ease of inspection and added safety each battery technician tool has a yellow under layer that identifies when the tool should be replaced and removed from service.

FAQs
Why are insulated battery tools necessary for battery maintenance?
Insulated tools are critical for ensuring technician safety during battery installation and maintenance. They reduce the risk of electrical shock and short circuits by providing a non-conductive barrier between the tool and energized components.
Are Eagle Eye Power Solutions’ insulated tools rated for specific voltage levels?
Yes. Our insulated tools are typically rated up to 1,000V AC/1,500V DC and tested to meet or exceed industry standards such as ASTM F1505 and IEC 60900. Always check the specific product details for voltage ratings.
What types of insulated tools are available?
We offer a variety of tools including insulated wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, nut drivers, cable cutters, and complete tool kits—each designed for safe use around live battery terminals and electrical systems.
Can these tools be used on both lead-acid and Ni-Cd battery systems?
Absolutely. Our insulated tools are suitable for use on a wide range of stationary power systems, including lead-acid and nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery banks commonly found in utility, telecom, and industrial environments.
Do the tools require periodic inspection or recertification?
Yes. Insulated tools should be regularly inspected for wear, damage, or compromised insulation. Depending on site safety protocols or compliance requirements, annual testing or replacement may be recommended.
Can Eagle Eye Power Solutions provide tool kits customized to our battery system?
Definitely. We can configure tool kits based on your specific application, battery type, or safety requirements. Contact our team to build a kit tailored for your field technicians or service team.
